SIUI new exhibitions in October!

In October, SIUI attended three exhibitions in Europe, Asia and North America, displaying featured products.
● ECNDT (11th European Conference on Non-Destructive Testing) in Prague, Czech Republic:
SIUI also presented a paper Application of Phased Array Ultrasonic Technique in Testing Electro-fusion Joint of Polyethylene Pipe at the ECNDT conference.

Phased Array and TOFD Inspection on Storage Tank

Phased Array and TOFD Inspection on Storage Tank
Volume: 2000 m3
Thickness: 50mm
Inspect position: 300mm away from the T-shaped part.
Purpose of This Application
Adopt Phased Array and TOFD technology to verify detection rate and accuracy of ultrasonic testing.
System Introduction
Phased Array and TOFD flaw detector SUPOR (32:128) and single channel TOFD crawler
Phased Array probes and TOFD probes
Coupling: Kettle spray method is adopted to ensure good coupling between probe and tank surface.

TOFD inspection with 1-ch TOFD crawler
SuporUp Software Analysis for TOFD inspection
The length of the strip-type defect is 35mm.
The defect is determined as slag by B-scan image.
Note: The sensitivity of lateral wave is a little low since the coupling is not good enough (both sides of welding should be polished).
PA Inspection on Storage Tank
Time-base method is adopted in Phased Array inspection.
SuporUp Software Analysis for PAUT inspection
The length of the strip-type defect is 35mm.
The defect is determined as slag by A-scan image.
Note: As the encoder scanning is not adopted in this phased array inspection, the horizontal length can not reflect the true defect length.
Conclusion

Phased Array and TOFD inspection on storage tank have these benefits: flexible and convenient operation, high detection sensitivity, intuitive result, real-time display, all defects can be detected by one scanning.

  Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing of Copper Plate and Copper Bars

Workpiece Introduction

Inspection Requirement & Scheme


Phased array immersion amplitude C-scan inspection method is adopted to inspect these worpieces. This scheme is composed of phased array system SUPOR(32:128), phased array probe and scanning unit.
Arcuate scanning is adopted in this solution.

With this inspection method, the internal structure of the workpiece is visual.  
No.2 Workpiece(Copper Bar)




Phased array C-scan can inspect all four artificial flaws with great detection ability.

With benefits like easy operation, high inspection sensitivity, visual result, real-time display, phased array technology can inspect defects quickly and visually.

  Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing of on 5.5mm Steel Plate

Inspection Requirement & Scheme 

ØSystem: Phased Array Flaw Detector SUPOR(32:128) 
In this application, phased array technology is adopted to inspect this workpiece.
Phased array immersion amplitude C-scan inspection method is adopted to inspect the steel plate. This scheme is composed of phased array system SUPOR, phased array probe and scanning unit.

Scanning Trajectory

Arcuate scanning is adopted in this solution.  
Have X and Y axes automatically scanning on the steel plate.



Phased array C-scan can inspect all eight artificial flaws with great detection ability.

SIUI has important members of CHsNDT visiting SIUI

SIUI is delighted to have important members of CHsNDT (The Chinese Society for Nondestructive Testing) visiting SIUI, to investigate production, discuss the trend of ultrasound technology development and the market prospect of ultrasound products.
SIUI held an agent meeting regarding ultrasound product. At this meeting, SIUI share new application cases on TKY (Advanced phased array technology) with major Chinese agents. The focus of this meeting was to launch the core technology of SIUI—Ultracloud.
