Thickness: 50mm
Inspect position: 300mm away from the T-shaped part.
Purpose of This Application
Adopt Phased Array and TOFD technology to verify detection rate and accuracy of ultrasonic testing.
System Introduction
Phased Array and TOFD flaw detector SUPOR (32:128) and single channel TOFD crawler
Phased Array probes and TOFD probes
Coupling: Kettle spray method is adopted to ensure good coupling between probe and tank surface.

TOFD inspection with 1-ch TOFD crawler
SuporUp Software Analysis for TOFD inspection
The length of the strip-type defect is 35mm.
The defect is determined as slag by B-scan image.
Note: The sensitivity of lateral wave is a little low since the coupling is not good enough (both sides of welding should be polished).

Time-base method is adopted in Phased Array inspection.

The length of the strip-type defect is 35mm.
The defect is determined as slag by A-scan image.
Note: As the encoder scanning is not adopted in this phased array inspection, the horizontal length can not reflect the true defect length.
